God might rock your boat.

If you have not read the "My first Job" post please take a moment to do that now as it will help you understand this post.

When I was canoeing that night I did not want to end up in the water, that canoe was my comfort zone on that lake, and when Daniel was rcoking my boat I got pretty upset and well scared. Eventually about eight feet from the shore Daniel was rocking the boat and I thought we would surely tip so I jumped out, and I had more fun swimming to shore and being wet and out of that canoe then I did worrying about leaving it.

The point is sometimes God wants us to leave our comfort zone and do something and really we do not want to leave, we are to scared, we let fear stand between us and God's will. If God starts to rock your boat sure you can choose to stay in and fight God, but it is alot funner once you've conqured the problem of leaving that zone and are out in the water, so to speak.

Daniel, I thank God for putting you there, you probably will never know how much you've helped me, thanks again for rocking the boat, it will probably be awhile after camp before you read this but thanks for everything. You have encouraged me and helped me tremendously

Week 3 at HRCC

This week was cool I got to work with alot of the same kids I had two years ago when I volunteered. I think God used us to plant alot of seeds, and I know alot of people got saved, Hallelujah! I have not forgotten about my campers from teen week ya'll. In fact I met many of your siblings.

A secial word to any campers reading this. Do not forget what you learned at camp, do not fall back into old habits and sins that you know you need to get rid of. I am still praying for you all, and I hope you all are still praying and spending time in God's Word. Do not be discouraged when the world tries to bring you down, instead stand strong in the Christian faith, no matter whats happenng remember that "All things wotk together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his plan" (Romans 8:28).

Today one of the campers dogs came to visit, the camper being neighbors the dogs wander the camp alot, and today all the campers had gone and I was waiting with another staff member for my ride. The dog randomly starts barking and looking at me, even when I move it followed me with his gaze, I thought the dog might attack me, and I said "In Jesus name shut up" and immediately the dog was fine and quiet. God has given us power in Jesus name and we need to cling to God's promises and use it.

Monday starts Day camp, please continue praying for us out at the camp, we need your prayers, pray that we will have wisdom and energy and that God will guide us and open the doors to the campers hearts.

May the peace and good will of God be with you all.

God is Amazing.

Hey we had the first week with campers and it went great. It was amazing to see how God moves through those campers. Probably 11 campers at least got saved this past week. I even had to opurtunity to help one guy out with some of his problems one on one, and the first night one of the Sr. counselours had to come and get me help answer questions his guys got so into devotions.
One night we sang "Trading My Sorrows" and we were instructed to go to the front of the chapel to pray with campers who wanted to "trade" stuff with God. Once up there we were told to start praying for the campers and at first I was praying generally from what I remember, and then I started praying for specific people and I think everyone I prayed for by name went up, its amazing how God works. Tomorrow we get the junior high kids, so keep praying.

My first job.

I have a job at Hickory Ridge Christian Camp this year. I am a Jr. Counselour and food prep person. This last week was staff training, it was great fun. I would encourage you all to pray for us at the camp, tomorrow we have real campers coming.

I was canoeing last night and we got into a canoe war. My canoe was the last one that had not been flipped, we were 8 to 10 feet from the shore, and the enemies catch up with us, I think the canoe was going to flip[ so "abandon ship" and I swim to shore yelling get to shore, I was still swiming until I hit land and realized, I three inchs in water.

P.S. Daniel thanks for rocking the boat.
