We have a problem

Well, I know all the Republicans are upset with the recent election, but look at the bright side, now legislators must come up with really good legislation or President Bush will just veto it. Likewise President Bush must support really good legislation or the House and Senate won't pass it. My party at Boy's State was in a similiar situation when we won the Governor's seat, won majority on the Supreme Court, but lost the House of Delegates and Senate. The result, what got passed was A: really good bipartisan legislation or B: passed by such a majority it overrode the Governor's veto.

Anyway, regardless of the fact that Nancy Pelosi, a San Fransican liberal will be Speaker of the House (and right after the Vice President in line for the Presidency) God is still in control. I hear all the supposedly "Religious Right" people in panic mode right now. Well who is in control, God or the government? I'm not too worried, even if a bunch of Democrats control Congress God is still in control. Even though Bush is still in the White House God is still in control.

Sure, the religious right is all about faith when Republicans are majority, but as soon as Democrats take control the Bible Belt starts spouting unbelief like its going out of business.

Let me be frank, God is God regardless of the party in control. I'm tired of some people who are more conservative in political stance using God and the Church when it's convenient and ditching God and the Church when it's not convenient. If you don't realize this yet let me clue you in... the Church is being used by power hungry politicians that could care less about the Church as long as we continue to send our healthy 35% of voter their way. This mentality that the Republican party is the moral party is absurd, and sense we're being honest the Democrats aren't any better. We need to realize that political parties do not and are not going to represent the Church as long as the Church is told what it needs to preach by these politicians. The Church has in a very subtle way nearly given God His pink slip and elected the Republican party as His replacement.

You don't think so? Allow me to make a point. Lets say the Christian Church technically began on the Day of Pentecost, just a few hundred believers under the Divine direction and with the supernatural empowerment of Almighty God grow to many thousand and turn their world upside down within a few years, maybe less then that. The Church today, which worldwide supposedly numbers about 2 billion (2,000,000,000) can't get a thing done for the Kingdom. The only thing I hear about is how God used to move, and the great revivals that used to take place and all this stuff that used to happen. Well what's the problem? If the Apostles did it with a few hundred surely we could do it with 2,000,000,000. Yes, it could be done with 2,000,000,000. But we need to stop relying on the numbers to do it. How many men Gideon have to defeat the Midianite army? It was something like 300 against nearly 120,000. What's the differance between then and today? Gideon was counting on God to win the battle regardless of numbers. We're counting on numbers to win the battle and in doing so we've left God out, we figure if we can be important in a political party then that party will take care of us.

We have a real problem. It is past time to quit making our political party more important then God. God is a jealous God, and let me tell you something, you're either with God or you're not You can't be loyal to God and to the world. I'm not saying you can't be in a party, I'm saying you need to make sure that whatever party you're in you put God in charge, NO. 1.

Well, hopefully I rocked the boat a little bit today (which is a story I'll mention later). God bless! Let me know what you think!

Who Do You Serve?

I'm sick and tired of the Church bending over backwards to accommodate the secular world! Honestly folks, does the Church not have a backbone? What is wrong today? I can't understand how someone can accommodate Christ and the world in everything at the same time.

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Matthew 6:24, KJV.

So-called Christians today go around and you can't tell the differance between some people who call themselves Christian and the world. They go around cussing, lying, cheating, engaging in pre-marital sex etc... honestly it's like the end of Animal Farm where you can't tell a differance between the pigs and the humans.

Let me make something clear: YOU CAN'T SERVE THE WORLD AND GOD AT THE SAME TIME!! If you think you can then one of two things is happening, you don't really know what serving the world is, or you don't really know what serving God is. In most cases I see personally it is people don't really know what serving God is. When I was at Boy's State I was talking to a guy in my cabin who thought it was rather peculiar that I wouldn't date hardly any of the girls in my school, he asked why. Why? Because they aren't Christians! He replied "I think we're all Christians here, just some of us stronger believers." The thing was, that guy wouldn't know a Bible if you knocked him over the head with an original Guttenburg (the first Bible every actually printed). This guy didn't know a thing about Christianity; and therein is the problem. People think they can adopt their parents faith, and people think "everyone I hang out with claims to be Christian. Everyone I hang out with has sex, cusses, lies, steals, etc... Therefore it must be ok for Christians to do this stuff." Well it's not ok, the mentality that everyone who is in America is a Christian, just some not as strong believers is a bunch of fried bologna.

If someone is a true Christian that involves a commitment to Christ; you're either Christian or you're not.

Some say, well I can confess so I can keep sinning and confessing. NO! as Paul put it "Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid." Romans 6:1-2, KJV. Jesus said if you love Him you must obey His commandments, and loving the Lord your God with all your heart is the greatest commandment, therefore we can conclude that if you are not putting your best toward obeying Christ's commands you do not really love Him that much and you are breaking the greatest commandment.

So I challenge you today "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15, KJV. So either server the world or serve God, but you CANNOT serve both!
